Bazaar Bayar is hosting 4 days of craft, culture, shopping, food and conversation!
A gateway into the Grand Bazaar…
We’ll wander the lanes of the Bazaar district for remnants of vintage textiles, trims and yarns. We gather inspiration from the colors, sights and textures of this ancient world center of trade.
Centuries of decorative arts, tucked everywhere…
We’ll learn lessons about color and pattern from the Turkish tulip, the tiles of the Topkapi Palace and
our favorite ‘hidden’ 16C mosque.
Vintage stitchworks
We’ll meet for sessions to share what we’ve seen and bought, learn local ways of stitching, plan projects inspired by our outings, see examples of the rich textile traditions of Turkey.

A long weekend of mixing fibers, local history and culture as inspiration, delicious Turkish cuisine and time to connect and enjoy creating with new people, in Old City Sultanahmet.
Mixing fiber arts in many varieties
Join me, a long-time expat in Turkey, fluent in its dramatic historic setting, to knit and learn new skills. You’ll be accommodated in a quaint 3-star hotel in the heart of the old city, our base for outings of discovery and relaxed workshop sessions.

Duration: 3 nights 4 days, Friday to Monday.

Our retreats are limited to a maximum 4 guests.
